Accountant
Key Purpose of the Role:
As an IFRS specialist, you will assist with the implementation of IFRS Accounting Standards across Blejmarc Group. This includes:
- Implementing transactions consistent with IFRS Accounting Standards and co-designing accounting solutions to drive compliance.
- Assessing new IFRS Accounting Standards, accounting for transactions, developing accounting policies and manuals, training on IFRS, and assisting in financial statement preparation in compliance with IFRS Accounting Standards.
- Liaising with international clients.
- Preparing and presenting papers to the Blejmarc Accounting Practices Committee, Audit Committee, and/or Regulator.
- Engaging with external auditors on IFRS-related queries and financial statement presentation and disclosures.
- Participating in industry forums.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Preparation and review of annual financial statements.
- Assisting in drafting Blejmarc Group Financial Statements in compliance with IFRS, Companies Act, and best practices.
- Reviewing subsidiary financial statements and providing guidance on disclosures per IFRS and Companies Act.
- Creating and sharing reporting frameworks and templates, including financial statement and reporting pack templates.
- Developing IFRS disclosures for new IFRS standards or interpretations.
New or Amended IFRS Standards:
- Staying abreast of IFRS developments and transferring knowledge to finance teams.
- Researching the impact of new/amended accounting standards on Blejmarc Group transactions.
- Overseeing the implementation of new accounting standards across Blejmarc Group (initiation, planning, execution, and monitoring).
- Interpreting and applying IFRS Accounting Standards across the group.
- Facilitating the Blejmarc Accounting Practices Committee to ensure consistent IFRS application.
- Addressing IFRS accounting queries and writing accounting opinions, position papers, and policy documents.
- Presenting IFRS training to finance teams.
- Liaising with external auditors and addressing IFRS and financial statement queries.
- Supporting the client relations team with technical queries and ad hoc requests.
- Assisting in the planning and execution of the annual audit.

Qualifications:
- Qualified CA (ACCA) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Relevant experience within financial services is required.
Working Hours:
8 AM - 5 PM / 1 Hour lunch
